TotalEnergies commissions its first roadway electric charger in the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolitan area.
Marseille, July 12, 2022 - TotalEnergies, one of the winners of the private call for initiatives (AIP) launched by the metropolitan area of Aix-Marseille-Provence (AMP) to roll out a vast network of new electric vehicle charging stations, commissions its first charger.
To speed up the energy transition, to promote and facilitate access to electric mobility in the cities within its region, the metropolitan area has decided to allow private operators to make new offers for public charging services on the roadway.
In July 2021, the metropolitan area of Aix-Marseille-Provence launched a series of private calls for initiatives (AIP). Last November, TotalEnergies was one of the three leading operators selected to install and operate new public charging stations, and secured a first batch of 35 sites to be rolled out.

The 35 sites will be equipped with one or two TotalEnergies chargers with power of 22 kVA and each with 2 charge points. The Company will finance the infrastructures itself and will pay an annual fee to the metropolitan area.
As soon as the contract was signed, TotalEnergies put its team to work to meet the needs of the metropolitan area and of electric vehicle users. The very first charger installed as part of the AIP for the metropolitan area is now in service on the rue de Ruffi (in the 3rd arrondissement of Marseille).
The metropolitan area of Aix-Marseille-Provence has just been added to the list of major European urban areas (along with Paris, London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Anvers, the Amsterdam metropolitan area) that put their trust in the expertise of TotalEnergies to promote the deployment and adoption of electric mobility by their inhabitants.
