I’m Assem Said Mohamed, Head of HSE for EV Charge, the TotalEnergies subsidiary responsible for rolling out charging terminals. 

Your job in a sentence? 

I help teams get to grips with HSE and sustainable development, and make sure people get home safe and sound. 

Your job in jargon? 

HSE is all about spotting, assessing and keeping control of the on-the-job, environmental and social risks involved in what we do. 

The number-one priority in your job? 

It’s hard to pick just one, so let me give you two. The first is to continue championing a safety-first culture among stakeholders, so partners, EV Charge subsidiaries and our staff, by spreading awareness of our HSE standards and supporting them on the ground. 

The second is to root sustainable development and social issues more firmly in our strategy. 

The number-one challenge in your job?

When it comes to electric mobility, the risks are by and large known and controlled, but it’s vital we continue promoting a safety-first culture across the board, from the maintenance provider to the installer via all staff. Safety is everyone’s business!

The number-one innovation in your job?

It’s funny you should mention that: today we’re at a firefighter site in Vienne to run on-the-ground checks linked to our work, and that’s what I like about my job. You meet people, discuss issues and solve them as a collective.
